How to Cheat Resources in Stellaris (Minerals, Food, Alloys & More)

Add any Stellaris resource instantly with the resource command and per-resource shortcuts.

Almost everything you build in Stellaris costs resources — minerals for buildings, alloys for ships, food for population, plus influence, unity, consumer goods and the strategic resources used in advanced components. There are two ways to cheat them in: per-resource shortcut commands and the catch-all resource command. First, open the command console (~), then use whichever fits.

Per-resource shortcuts

The common resources each have a dedicated command. Used alone they add 5,000; add a number for a custom amount.

These map directly to command pages with full details and examples: minerals, food, alloys, influence and unity.

The generic resource command

For anything without a shortcut — consumer goods, volatile motes, exotic gases, rare crystals and the strategic resources — use resource with the resource's internal ID:

Like the shortcuts, leaving off the amount adds the default 5,000. The resource command page lists the accepted resource IDs.

Common resource IDs

  • minerals, energy, food, alloys, consumer_goods
  • influence, unity
  • volatile_motes, exotic_gases, rare_crystals
  • sr_dark_matter, sr_living_metal, sr_zro, nanites

Tips

  • Want energy credits specifically? That's the cash command — see the energy credits guide.
  • Resources are added to your stockpile, so they're subject to your storage cap. If a grant seems smaller than expected, your capacity is full.
  • Cheating disables Steam achievements for the session and is unavailable in Ironman.

Frequently asked questions

How do you cheat minerals in Stellaris?

Open the console and type minerals to add 5,000, or minerals 10000 for a custom amount. The generic resource minerals 10000 works too.

What is the resource command in Stellaris?

resource adds any resource by its internal ID — e.g. resource alloys 5000 or resource sr_dark_matter 1000. It defaults to 5,000 if you leave out the amount.

Can you add strategic resources like Dark Matter or Zro?

Yes. Use the resource command with the strategic-resource ID, for example resource sr_dark_matter 1000 or resource sr_zro 1000.
