There was no warning. King Tamperion emerged from the heart of the gardens, draped in ceremonial armor spun from living vines and bioluminescent blossoms. With each deliberate step along the colony's edge, the world itself awakened. Vines slithered from the soil, while petals unfurled like blades. The air grew thick with a golden pollen, fine and luminescent. It seeped into vents and lungs. Within hours, it had claimed the life of many, inducing seizures, madness, and finally, death. Only the intervention of automated colony defenses eventually brought him down. King Tamperion fell without a word; witnesses say his final gaze held not hatred, but a deep and solemn disappointment. Where the Court of Blossoms once was, our scouts found only forest. It is as though the kingdom had folded itself back into the soil, taking its secrets and its sorrow with it.
