What our people saw from orbit was … shutting down, every light source within the city snuffed out at once. What people on … experienced was much worse: vehicles reduced to road blocks, factories grinding to a halt, hospital equipment lifeless and inert. A world-wide blackout, as sudden as it was inexplicable. As silence and shadows veiled our world, strange light patterns bloomed in the sky, enveloping our capital system in a kaleidoscopic mist.
