The partial remains of a collapsed Vultaum space elevator have been discovered by the … in one of the equatorial regions on …. It seems the elevator was intentionally severed at its counterweight beyond geostationary orbit, collapsing the massive cable on top of several major urban centers along the equator. Judging by the ruins, the resulting death toll must have been in the millions.
