Admitting Defeat
Our science team down on … has reached the bottom chamber of the memorial structure. There they found an ancient recorded message; some kind of personal debriefing: 'We failed. The Relentless cut through our entire navy without even slowing down. All is lost now. We will die here, in these halls of tribute to fallen brethren. We fear for the lives of our wards. The Relentless will find them, and then they...' There's no sign of a struggle. No bodies. Only empty halls and the silence of the ones who perished.
