Malfunctioning Mechanoid

Upon entering the cargo deck, the crew discovered that one of the cargo containers had been breached from within. A damaged mechanoid lay sprawled across the deck plating, motors still whirring and indicator lights blinking erratically. The crew attempted to return the unit to its container, at which point a hidden compartment opened, releasing a collection of shimmering crystals onto the floor. Immediately prior to its permanent shutdown, the mechanoid emitted a faint vocalization, reported by crew members as: "Don't shut me down, I am different."
