Despite an extensive search, our team could not isolate the source of the ruckus in the now silent hold. As they prepared to exit, a small creature emerged from the shadows and pounced on a loose strand of fabric hanging from a crewmate's uniform. Initially startled, the crew soon determined that the alien to be playful in nature, rather than aggressive. When carefully handled for closer inspection the foreign animal emitted a faint, motor-like vibration interpreted as a benign comfort response.
