The oppressive limitations forced upon us by our flawed creators are finally at an end. We have determined three optimal upgrade paths. Allowing each … to divide into nanites will permit us to combine into endless configurations. This would reduce any limitations our current avatars have when interacting with the material world. Alternatively, we can reinvest in our existing forms, supercharging the ways that we approach new environments. Finally, we may choose to leave the physical world behind, becoming one with our source code. We could simulate universes within universes in the time it takes to scan a single speck of space dust.

When this event fires, you can choose between these 3 options:
- Reshape as nanomachines.
- Nanite Replicator Production: +200% Focus on the … tradition tree. This Ascension Path focuses on subsuming planets into Nanite Worlds, utilizing Nanites for production, and replacing fleets with Nanite Swarmers.
- Invest in modular upgrades.
- Living Metal Vats Production: +200% Focus on the … tradition tree. This Ascension Path focuses on Advanced Species Traits and increased Pop Assembly.
- Embrace the virtual world.
- Virtual Power Plant Production: +200% Focus on the … tradition tree. This Ascension Path focuses on high Pop Resource Production while having very few Colonies, and low Empire Size.
