Crystal Lava Lakes
The "Crystal Lava Lakes" event in Stellaris — flavor, choices, and how to trigger it with the event console command.
Crystal Lava Lakes

Our first images from the surface of … have revealed stunning and unexpected geological formations that are being called 'crystal lava lakes'. These long-lived bodies of magma are infused with unique minerals that, within a specific temperature range, naturally self-arrange into crystalline matrices. The result is exceptional transparency and red-spectrum iridescence across the lake. Due to the planet's orbit, this visually striking effect ebbs and flows on a seasonal cycle as temperatures fluctuate. The aesthetic appeal of these crystal lava lakes could prove to be a powerful draw for tourists. The crystalline minerals themselves could also be skimmed from the surface during their active season, after which their properties could be leveraged for energy storage media.
