The hive is changing. By altering our genomes, we have observed measurable health improvements. However, this has made us less resilient to psychological distress. We did not dislike who we were before, and even though we are becoming a stronger and more cognitively advanced, we miss the familiarity of our former thought patterns. Throughout the hive there is a deeply uncomfortable feeling that our bodies do not match our intrinsic psyche. Have we outgrown ourselves?
