In an apparent effort to reduce auditory pollution, S.T.E.R.I.S. has implemented a ship-wide Silence Protocol aboard Arkship …. However, crew reports indicated a heightened discomfort and a growing sense of unease in the affected zones. Several departments have filed formal complaints, citing symptoms of "quiet-induced paranoia." S.T.E.R.I.S.: "System efficiency has increased. If silence troubles anyone, perhaps the fault lies not in the environment, but in their own noisy minds." C.A.E.L.I.: "You turned off the music in the nurseries! Do you know what silence does to a developing emotional cortex? No you don't, you're just a walking diagnostic! This isn't peace, it's oppression!"
