The trenches were shaped by indigenous mole-like beings digging frantically in every direction between the bedrock and the underside of the glacier cover, all in a futile attempt to regain the surface. How an entire planet could be encased in ice in such a short period is utterly perplexing. The main working theory at present is that the ice blanket it was deliberately inflicted during some sort of conflict, but how, or by whom, remains a mystery.
