Carcinogenic Radiance
The long-lost post-apocalyptic society of mutants on … appears to have worshiped sources of radiation as godly, tying evolution as a process to the existence of radioactive substances. From what we can glean of their pictographic language, radiation is referred to as the 'Source,' from which the 'true state' of all creatures could be revealed. Our archaeologists theorize that prolonged, willful exposure to such radiation sources for spiritual reasons may have led to the species' rampant mutations, and eventual downfall.
