Excavation at … has revealed a number of fossils clearly related to the Baol -- but, curiously, these specimens appear to have diminished neurological organs required for subspace ephapse communication -- that is to say, the ability to communicate neurologically over great distances, a faculty unique to Hive Minds. What definitive causes may have precipitated this evolutionary swing are unknown, though it would be remiss to assume to the Grunur invasion was unrelated. Further investigation is warranted.
